"I'm going to love my baby and give her lots of attention," Jade said. "I'll show my mum she's wrong."

Jade, 17, is pregnant, homeless, and alone when she's brought to live with Cathy. Jade is desperate to keep her baby, but, little more than a child herself, she struggles with the responsibilities her daughter brings.

Cathy is worried as soon as Jade arrives she's never looked after a pregnant teenager before, but none of the mother-and-baby carers is free, and - 17 years old, seven months pregnant, and homeless - Jade is in a desperate situation.

But Jade doesn't want to listen or advice, and although her daughter is born safely it isn't long before Jade's in trouble with the police.

Cathy knows that Jade loves her daughter with all her heart, but will she be able to get through to Jade in time to make her realise just how much she might lose?

Please Don't Take My Baby (Audible Audio Edition) Cathy Glass Denica Fairman HarperCollins Publishers Limited Books

I really enjoyed this book which is the author's true story of fostering pregnant Jade. The book follows Jade through her pregnancy and the baby's first year. I liked the detailed description of her daily life and reading about how the author balances the needs of her foster children with those of her own biological children. The book takes place in the UK so Anglophiles may enjoy that aspect too!

If you are interested in fostering a teen this is probably a good book to read. The author describes her attempts in parenting Jade, both successful and unsuccessful. She does not present herself as some sort of saint and is frank about the aspects of fostering that are challenging/tiring.

The writing is good and the book is well-edited. There are no irritating spelling or grammatical errors to detract from the story.

I found myself caring very much about what was to happen to Jade and her baby. Also satisfying is the epilogue, which ties up any loose ends you may wonder about.

I enjoyed this book and will likely buy more from the same author.

Please Don't Take My Baby (Audible Audio Edition) Cathy Glass Denica Fairman HarperCollins Publishers Limited Books Reviews

Excellent book. Should be considered for anyone interested in nonfiction, easy to read books from age teenage through adult. Full of suspense that keeps one wondering what is to happen next.
Awesome book written by an amazing lady. I preordered this book so I couldn't wait to read it. Once released it for kindle readers I read from that time on until I finished the morning after staying awake all night . I love happy endings and I enjoyed reading about Jade , Courtney an Tyler. I Always enjoy reading about Cathy and her precious family as well. She has been blessed with a wonderful family and she shares her love with so many other children , welcoming them into her home , open arms and her heart , she is truly an amazing woman and author.
Another great read! Love and determination makes such a difference! Thank you for another inspiring story! Cathy you are a Godsend!
I love books that depict the triumphs of troubled children on whom many have given up. Cathy Glass adds the human factor. She shares her fears and doubts, the times she questions her actions. She brings the reader into her world, mostly filled with love, occasionally tears. This book dealing with a teenage mother, a child herself, shows the power of healing both Cathy and her children bring into the lives of those in care.
I love all Cathy Glass books. This one was different in that it centered on a pregnant teenager. Cathy tried to encourage Jade to look after herself and stay out of trouble or the baby could be taken away from her. The baby's father, a nice very young man, was involved with the girl and baby and proved to be a good influence, as was Cathy. But Cathy did too much for Jade and the child because she loved them, and she almost accidentally caused the assessment of Jade's mothering skills to be in jeopardy. The story was well-written, and luckily had an unexpected happy ending. Cathy was so good to this girl- she helped her when her own family could not.
(I reserve 5 stars for the best of the best-IMHO)
I really like the books Cathy Glass has written about her foster care experiences, but this was one I was going to pass on. I have seen so many teen moms and didn't really want to read a story about one more. The sample drew me in, though. Ms Glass is an excellent writer and doesn't hesitate to express her own feelings of inadequacy at times. To take on a teenage girl, add in a pregnancy, a young father-to-be, grandparents-to-be, peer pressure, hormones, and alcohol abuse makes for a very uncertain outcome. I love that there is an epilogue to every story following up on that particular child, plus Ms Glass also has a further follow-up on her web site. These books are well worth your time!
I loved this book alike all Cathy's other books. I do have to say, I had the impression that Jade was forever taking advantage of Cathy, which made me upset, because Cathy did everything in her power to help this girl and definitely didn't deserve to be treated with disrespect. Being the kind person Cathy is, she gave her every chance and benefit of the doubt, and in the end, it seemed that Jade finally appreciated everything Cathy had been to her. I have noticed that Cathy can bring the best out in just about everyone she comes in contact with.
